Pilates and Yoga Class Information
Below is a current list of all classes currently running.
All courses are 6 weeks in duration; each class is one hour long. Numbers are limited to between 6-8 in a class depending on the difficult level of the class.
This allows proper supervision for each member of the class. Unfortunately we are not offering drop in classes, the main reason for this is to allow a cohesive within the group and allow them to progress at the same rate.
Prior to the course starting any new participants will undergo a 15-minute free consultation with their instructor to discuss their needs, concerns and previous medical history. This means that all instructors are able to develop a program truly prescriptive to your condition and body type.
Class Descriptions
Antenatal Pilates
This is suitable for any stage of pregnancy. Pilates is an excellent way to maintain some core stability control and help to reduce the impact of the very increasing bump on the sacro-iliac joints, mid and low back, pubic symphysis and general body fitness. These classes are mindful of most Mum’s inability to lie comfortably on their backs or indeed their stomachs!
Cost £10 per hour, £60 for the course.
Back Care Pilates
These Pilates classes are designed for those people suffering from back pain. Even if you are currently receiving treatment for your condition these classes are designed to complement that treatment. If there are particular areas of concern our instructor is able to discuss your condition with one of our qualified osteopaths.
By separating people into specific classes depending on the location of the pain, this aids the instructor in being able to focus on only those exercise that are suitable for that area.
Cost £10 per hour, £60 for the course
Back Care Yoga
Similar in structure to the Pilates class, this Yoga class will aid in the improvement of core stability, flexibility of the lumbar spine and those areas that relate to it. It is an effective rehabilitation program used to complement any form of treatment that you may currently be receiving.
Cost £10 per hour, £60 for the course
Yoga for Beginners/ Pilates for Beginners
Both of these classes are designed for those individuals who have no previous experience of either therapy. Whilst classes will be suitable for all individuals they are viewed as a general course rather than a class to treat specific issues.
If you have a specific area of concern that needs working on please look at the other courses we offer or indeed contact us to see if we are planning on running a course that may be more suitable for you and your specific needs
Cost £7 per hour, £42 for the course
We are also planning on running specific courses for runners, cyclists, racket sports enthusiasts and equestrians based in both Pilates and Yoga. Whilst these are not currently on the class timetable below, please do contact us as we may have a current waiting list for these classes to start.
If you are still unsure about which class you think is suitable for you then please call us on 01489 788844 or email us on info@thetotalcareclinic.co.uk
